We went to a local little zoo (only about 30 animals) today with our homeschool group. It's little, but they've got great picture op's. They have an arctic wolf, (she's gorgeous, but was hiding!) and there is pieces of the fence cut out for better pictures. Plus we had the whole place to ourselves basically. (This is a Great Horned Owl)

It was really cold today. Well. Not that cold, but it was in the 50's for a while, and it dropped back down to the 30's with wind. Yuckk!

Golf ball-sized hail, pouring rain, tornado warnings, & no electricity at the church make for a very interesting Sunday.

Spring is slowly arriving.

Another very foggy/misty morning in the valley, couldn't even see the mountains.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Today I finished my last day of helping with the kids for this month. Because this little guy isn't mine (although I wish he was, he was way too cute) I'm not showing his face. He enjoyed playing with this toy, although he had a hard time getting number 2 and 4 open!

We went to Shady Maple today for my birthday..it was yummy! I love the Amish culture, I think it's really fascinating. Although they're against having their picture taken, I did take a few.

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

I helped chaperon a group of five very energetic kids to a local state park to go hiking in the woods today, and oh course, I had my camera.

Monday, March 23, 2009

My sister is making caramels..practicing for the local fair (which is in September). lol.

Sunday, March 22, 2009

Today the family celebrated my birthday, which is on Wednesday. I enjoyed it, it was fun to see my cousins and grandparents. Plus my sister's homemade chocolate cake was amazing. She even put the Philadelphia Flyers (hockey) logo on it!

Saturday, March 21, 2009

One of the mallards sitting next to the pond at the park, they were pretty.

Friday, March 20, 2009

Rita's had their first day of spring free-ice today, and I saved a little bit for Mac..who quickly ate it and stole away with the cup. Little hot dog!

Thursday, March 19, 2009

My grandpa's daffodils (I hate these flowers for their name..I can't spell it right. My one friend will get this. lol.) sprung up, so I photographed them along with the rain!

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

I really like this picture. Today there was a thick fog/mist in the valley, and I shot some pictures out the window on the way to homeschool group.

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

A sunny day, blue skies, and warm weather! Another nice combination that says spring is approaching. I spent an hour outside photographing the birds today, my goal was to get a good picture of a Tufted Titmouse and Chickadee. Well..one down, one to go!

Monday, March 16, 2009

I really do enjoy living in the middle of nowhere most of the time, today being one of those times.

Sunday, March 15, 2009

I believe it's spring now. This guy showed up at the feeder while I was outside doing some spring cleaning. I'm really excited for the Goldfinches to get their breeding plumage, they're going to be so pretty!

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Tonight to a Sanctus Real (and Reilly!) concert. It was a lot of fun, both bands were fantastic. I took a lot of pictures, but I think these two really captured the reason why were there tonight.

Friday, March 13, 2009

Today we took a field trip to the Philadelphia Zoo. We're members, so we go a lot. I really love them! The second shot is from Valley Forge Historical Park, another place that I love. It was a fun day!

Thursday, March 12, 2009

! I have not seen any cardinals since I put my feeders up and kept at it. Today I saw the male hanging around the feeder, so I went outside to try and get some pictures but he was gone by then. I was walking around and there she was! My little sister calls this a "mommy cardinal."

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

I have no strong feelings for this picture..but it's one of the only ones I took today. It was supposed to be a city skyline, but I couldn't find enough colored pencils. Maybe another day it will grow!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Flowers are fun to photograph. They have lots of different ways to be shot, and for the most part, they cooperate pretty nicely.

Monday, March 9, 2009

We took a quick drive through Daniel Boon Homestead today. I believe this building was his house, although I'm not positive.

Sunday, March 8, 2009

To build a birdhouse..
Wa-la! Two hours, five birdhouses. Two for various people, three for my yard. They're the appropriate size for bluebirds..which I'm really hoping they'll attract! Now it's the waiting game.

Saturday, March 7, 2009

Seeing as the weather was very nice today, my family went for a walk/ride on one of the local trails. Everyone was in shorts and t-shirts!

Friday, March 6, 2009

Some of the very pretty flowers that were given out at the cast party for the play tonight. I had fun photographing them!

Thursday, March 5, 2009

I really like this, the colors go well, giving it an older look.

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Snowy ice creek, just a few quick shots right before I headed home from play practice.

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Back when I first started doing the picture a day challenge I saw this gas pump. I thought it would clash really nicely with some snow & afternoon light. Today proved the day for the shot!

Monday, March 2, 2009

Bo! We had another snow this morning, during which he didn't want to come inside. (That thick fur keeps him nice and warm!) When I went out to get him an hour later, he blended into the scenery perfectly.

Sunday, March 1, 2009

I saw the old letter blocks on the patio and spent a long time looking for the 'V'. I found it, looking slightly tie-dyed.
