New Beginnings

Well..this is it! My 365th consecutive picture. This is the lead singer of Third Day. My youth group went to see them tonight, they and a bunch of other bands/artists played at a concert close to our church. So we went. It was fun! I took quite a few pictures.
So, you may be wondering, what will happen to me?! Will I dispear forever into cyberspace? Noope! Although I won't be posting on this blog anymore, I will most certainly have another blog! I'd like to leave this one at 365 posts..y'know, it's kinda special to me. So I'd love it if you'd move over to my new blog and follow me there! Details to tomorrow! Same pictures, same photographer, just different blog! I'll let you guys know ASAP! Also..
THANK YOU!
Honestly, to all my followers and people who comment and send me some fellow-photographer love, I love you! It seems kinda tacky to say, but I almost couldn't have done it without your support. It was wonderfully awesome. Blessings & Love, Sara

Our World

When I was younger, I used to like to spin the globe around and then try to stop it right on Pennsylvania. Although I did not succeed very often, I did get pretty good at geography! (PS, one more day!!!)

Gingerbread Details

My sister made this adorable gingerbread house for the fair. It came home with an honorable mention prize, pretty good for competing against all PA juniors! She made wonderful details I enjoyed photographing.

Land of the Blue Mountains

Pennsylvania is called the land of the blue mountains, and rightfully so. I love it here.

Pranks..

After some of the girls sent our youth pastor on a scavenger hunt for his tooth brush & other toiletries, he retaliated. He froze our hairbrushes in a solid chunk of ice. It was pretty fantastic, very well played.

Reflections

I love the pond by the entrance of the camp. It's quite pretty, and I loved the birch trees hit with late-sun light in the reflection. Especially with an icy natural border!

Dodgeballs

Friday night after session my youth group participated in the dodge ball tournament. It went on until the next night, but we took fourth place!

Coke Train

This was given to my family as a gift from a friend in Africa a year or two ago. It's pretty neat. The train is made completely out of coca-cola cans, - I think!
*I'm heading to snow camp for the weekend, I'll catch up on Sunday! Have a great weekend everyone!

Bird Feeder

Lately, I've been getting back to the basics. The simple little things in life that I set out to capture in the first place. With only a week to go, I'm not looking for extraordinary pictures. Just little glimpses of my life. I made this feeder at the birding seminar at our local feed store on Saturday. It was supposed to be for the kids, but I was one of two people under 30 there. Most were older folks, but it was fun anyways. I bought more bird seed, so hopefully I'll have bird picture soon!

Winter Daze

Seems like even a thirty minute walk tires this old pooch out lately. He turned seven in December, and I can hardly believe we've had him for three years. Time flies when you're having fun! But this dog's different sleeping arrangements never cease to amuse me.

All-Star

I got new Converse about a month ago, and I'm managed to keep them clean! This is quite a feat for me, considering I tend to muddy up shoes the second I get them.

Cup of Hot Chocolate

Recently, I've been on a hot chocolate kick. I've been drinking some almost every day! Today was a good day for some - wet, rainy, damp and cold weather. It was wonderful warming up with a cup after a long day!

Byron, Lord of the Sqaulk

Don't ask me, I didn't name him! This is my friend's Dad's bird. I had brought my camera along to take pictures of the Chemistry experiments we were doing.. But when I saw this, I knew it'd be a much more interesting picture.

Cactus

This is my Grandma's Christmas Cactus, except it doesn't actually bloom during the holiday season. It blooms around Thanksgiving and New Years. It's a little off, but they look lovely when they do bloom. Sorry for the late posts everyone, life has been crazy!

Rodeo

The calf-tie down and bull-riding, both pictures from the Circuit Frontier Rodeo held on Thursday & Friday night at the PA Farm Show. It was pretty cool, I'm always a geek for this kind of stuff, so I really enjoyed it!

Glasses

There are my glasses, on top of my Grandparents bible. It's really big, so I thought it'd work well with the whole glasses-on-book idea.

Country Gal

I must face it, I'm a total country girl. I could not stand living in a city, although they're nice to visit occasionally I much prefer open fields speckled with cows. I got this hat at the farm show yesterday, I love it.

PA Farm Show

Today my Grandpa, sister & I headed out to our state's farm show (basically, Pennsylvania's equivalent of a state fair, only more awesome). These are pictures from throughout the day, a nursing calf, Pennsylvania's bee keepers association's demonstration, and a bow from a once-wild Mustang in the Equine Arena. It was a wonderful day, with photo contest winnings to come!

Warm & Cozy

This stove keeps our basement (typically the coldest place in the house) one of the warmest! It's a lovely old guy, we've had it for quite a few years now. I like it!

Snowy the Snowman Face

This is Snowy, the snowman face. He moves around every year, last year he was behind our door. The year before that, hanging from our stairs. He never seems to stay put in one place! ..Why yes, I am getting a tad bit out of ideas with less that three weeks to go!

Snow Nose

I was outside looking for possible photograph subjects for today's picture when my dog plunked himself in front of me with a snowy nose. I could not resist. I'm a sucker for the snow nose. It's just too adorable for me not to use as today's picture!

Wildwood

After dropping off our entries at the Farm show, I was able to stop at the Wildwood Nature Center for about an hour. The trails were incredibly icey, and there wasn't many birds out. This little guy (who I think is a Fox or Song Sparrow, I could be totally off) was one of the few I saw!

Gingerbread House

My sister is currently making a Gingerbread House to take up to the Farm Show (Pennsylvania's version of a State Fair). Personally, I'm entering 20 photos, 3 jams, 1 scrapbook page and the jar I painted. We're taking them up tomorrow..busy, busy!

Dark-Eyed Junco

We got a lot of these little guys around my house, but not so many at my Grandma's (where this was taken). I like the greens in the background, I think it makes him stand out a little better. I miss having wild birds around, but I can't seem to get over to where I buy my seed.

Butterfly Bush

My butterfly bush isn't quite so pretty now that the petals have fallen off. Not too many butterflies have been around either. I'm looking forward to once again seeing these fascinating insects hanging around my garden, but for now I'm got snow to shoot!

Chilly Sunrise

This morning I saw this lovely sunrise and rushed to get my camera. It was incredibly cold (about 13 degrees, with 30mph winds) so I didn't stay out long to get creative. But I snapped this, and I think it's pretty enough for today's picture.

Jazzy Jar

Tonight I spent a few hours painting a canning jar for the PA Farm Show's "Jazzy Jar" contest. I decided to just paint mine, and I think it came out pretty cute! It's got five hot-air balloons flying around with a silo & barn on the other side of it. Click HERE for the link to see the entire jar.

O New Years Tree

Somehow our Christmas tree escaped without being photographed (well, at the least the entire tree!) throughout the holiday season. So today I have dubbed it..New Years tree! Yep! Doesn't have quite the same ring to it though, but we'll get used to it.
