Sprinkles

Today a trio of my friends and I decided to gather for some cookie baking and Christmas movie viewing! We cheated - premade store-bought dough. They were delicious though. We drank hot chocolate and watched the Polar Express. A fun afternoon all in all!

Phillies Tree

No, we haven't actually put our Christmas tree up yet. My younger sister puts up a little two or three foot fake one in her room and decorates it with Philadelphia Phillies things. All the lights are red or white, and the balls are silver and red. Typically she leaves it up for the entire baseball season, haha.

Sunny Skies

After days of waking up to cloudy skies, it was a glorious change to wake up to sunshine streaming through the windows! Although it was still chilly, and extremely windy the sun shone wonderfully. I took this out the car window, that's why the bottom is blurred.

Winter Plumage

Today, we headed out to Harrisburg to the Wildwood Nature Center. They're having a photography contest and I decided to enter two pictures. (Click HERE, the first two pictures I entered) I wasn't able to stay at the center for long, but I caught this American Goldfinch hanging out by the feeders. - Winter plumage and all!

Thanksgiving Day

I'm thankful for a family who although, doesn't necessarily understand why I spend 10 minutes taking pictures of the food before we eat it, - but lives with it anyways. Why yes, we had ham instead of turkey. More people like ham in our family, so it works.

November Leaves

My Grandma's tree still had some leaves on it. It was this or more cookies, plus I kinda like this picture. I miss fall, but I heard there's a chance of snow on Saturday! Woohoo!

Cookie Spirit!

Today, I'm celebrating the 300th post of A Picture A Day! I'm also celebrating the fact that I've only got 65 more days to go. Honestly, everyone who comments and watches my blog is a big help and motivation to keep going even when I don't want to. Thanks all!

Soup Sizzle

We had leftover turkey (from feeding our churches small group on Saturday) so tonight my dad made some turkey soup! Typically he makes it with chicken, but let me tell you, this stuff is good!

Knoll West

All the girls stayed in the Knoll West cabin, with the boys next door to us in East. We found the pretty leaf on a walk, gave him a face and stuck him up there. Staying all day!

Jake

The camp's horse, Jake. He's a really sweet big Mexican Pony. My friend & I went to visit him during the afternoon, he's just too cute!

Winter's Cold

Winter is coming in fast and cold! I must say I love the tempetures still. I love wearing my favorite hat while taking walks but not being too cold. I was away for the weekend, sorry I didn't warn everyone. Pictures to come!

My Gear

I saw two people post pictures of their 'blog' space and gear. Well, I don't do too much actual blogging, it's more about the pictures for me. So I thought I'd show you my equipment! It took me a while, I ended up using the bathroom mirror with our sink stool stacked up on our hamper. Then I set the 10-second timer and held a white towel behind everything. Worked out okay! Sunset

We had a pretty sunset tonight. I couldn't get out to photograph it, so I just took some pictures for a panoramic out my window.

Meringues

I tried to make Meringue cookies tonight. I didn't use the recipe that I typically do (it's a friends) so they came out kinda wrong. They're still pretty tasty though!

Golden Glow

There's about 20 leaves left hanging on our tree. There's just a few pokes of color left in the hills and winter is settling in for a good stay. I miss fall already!

Model Railroad

My Dad enjoys model railroading. It's taken over our basement and part of our backyard, plus it is planned to take over the rest of the yard in the future. My Dad asked me to take some pictures, finally did.

Towel Monster

There comes a point of time where you can't keep putting off giving the dog a bath. Tonight my Dad told me that Mac really reeked terribly. Plus the bathtub needed a scrub, which ends up being my job because after I wash the dog in there it needs a special cleaning. Now, this dog does not like bathtime by any means. The second he sees me calling him from the bathroom he runs, and I end up dragging him into the tub. Typically he'll stay once he's there, but he has had his escapes! I love him to pieces though. I sorta feel like a mom taking pictures of their kids in the bathtub, haha. Enjoy!

Cake Decorating

My sister is taking another cake-decorating class, - so I took some pictures of her spelling a few words with icing. She's getting pretty good at it!

David Crowder Band

My sister has wanted to see David Crowder for quite some time, and he finally came up this way. I had a really fun time, they're music is really fantastic! I didn't take many pictures at all, dim lighting, jumpy crowd, plus the stage was weird. So this was the only half decent picture out of over a hundred!

Last bit of yellow

This tree didn't seem to get the message that fall is over. Winter has kicked in, and I'm wearing a jacket while walking the dog instead of just a sweatshirt. Makes me sad, but I'm eagerly awaiting the first snowfall!

Sampson

This is Sampson, I got him about a year ago. He's a buddy with Sam, who's tail is on the far right of this picture. I love having goldfish, they keep me amused and smiling!

Bible Studying

Galatians is a really interesting book. I really don't have much to share about this picture, so I'll share one of my favorite parts of it. "For I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20

Late Bloom

Today I had a short photo-shoot with my neighbor. We're going to do another one tomorrow at a better location. She's an awesome gardener, still has flowers looking nice even though the temperatures are getting chilly!

Cheater Cookies

These are cheater cookies. They aren't homemade, this is from the store. In my defensive, I'd like to say we had no flour. Although, I suppose I could have asked my Dad to get me flour at the store instead of a bag of ready-to-put on the tray cookie dough squares. Oh well. They were yummy.

Pumpkin Glow

Our pumpkins were decaying fast, so tonight I took a picture of the only one not-collapsed. This is mine, and I think he's pretty adorable. His smile is a little lopsided, and I think he may have some cavities that need to be filled..but I think that's the least of his problems!

Fire Safety

Fire safety review is a requirement from the state of PA for homeschoolers every year. This is my little sisters plastic hat from the 'training'.

Ancient History Day

Our homeschool group put on an Anicent History Day for the community. There were 'tours' through Rome, Greece, Egypt and a market. There was a Roman Gladiator fights, a Greek home (with a goat!), Egyptian 'mummy', and a variety of bread and other markety things. I ran around and took pictures, it was lots of fun. Trying out some new photo-collage type things. Hope you enjoy them!

Cloudy With a Chance..

..of Meatballs! I haven't been to the movies in such a long time. The last time I was at a theater I saw 'Valkyrie' (phenomenal film), last December! This movie has moved to the cheaper theaters, which is really the only time we see movies (four kids makes a dent!). It was lots of fun, a really cute movie. I loved the book growing up, go read it and see it! (tomorrows picture will be up Thursday)

The Mighty Beast

I try not to post too many pictures of my dogs because sometimes it seems like they're well..to easy. They're adorable! At least I think so, haha. I had an idea to combine these three pictures of him yawning, and it came out cute so I decided to use it for today's picture! I love this dog!

Last Leaves

We finally had a day with blue skies and no rain! It was a little windy out, the leaves were blowing everywhere. Most of them are down now, winter is just around the corner!
